Homeless Hub: Providing a Safe Haven for Manchester’s Homeless Community

Manchester has been facing an alarming increase in homelessness, leaving countless people without a roof over their heads. The issue has brought about many challenges for those affected, ranging from a lack of shelter to limited access to basic amenities such as food and sanitation.

We at Create It Studio Architects were honoured to have worked closely with the Homeless Hub charity to address these issues head-on. Together, we created a new homeless shelter in Ardwick, Manchester - the Homeless Hub - that offers more than just a roof over someone’s head.

Our project aimed at providing sleeping spaces, washing facilities, dining areas and social spaces for up to 20 guests. We believe that everyone deserves dignity and respect regardless of their situation. Creating a space where individuals can regain some control over their lives by having access to clean clothes and bedding or taking a shower allows us to help tackle the ever-growing challenges of homelessness in Manchester.

It was an incredibly rewarding experience for us, knowing that we had contributed towards making a positive difference in our community. The team at Homeless Hub was vigilant and passionate about helping those in need, which made it all the more humbling to work alongside them.

Together with the Homeless Hub charity, we hope this project will inspire others to work towards ending homelessness not only in Manchester but across the UK.
